Medical chopper reportedly crashes in Palawan waters

A medical chopper reportedly crashed in the vicinity waters between Brooke’s Point and Balabac in Palawan on Wednesday, March 1, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

PCG-District Palawan deployed Wednesday afternoon BRP Malabrigo to respond to the alleged crash.

Medical chopper “yellow bee,” with a tail number N45VX, was carrying five individuals, including a patient and a nurse.

Based on the investigation, the chopper fetched a patient at Mangsee Island at around 9:00 a.m.

It lost contact at around 12:10 p.m. while on its way to Brooke’s Point.

PCG said it is currently conducting search and rescue operations in the vicinity waters. -ag
