DAVAO CITY — Alvin Medura of Zamboanga Sibugay will fight Mugicha Nakagawa of Japan for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight title on August 3, at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

The 25-year old Medura (8W-4L-0D, 7KO) TKO’d Reynald Condes of Paranaque in the 5th round in Pasay in July 7, 2018.

Medura, however, lost his two games in Japan. He lost by a technical decision to Yuki Yamauchi on October 13, 2018 then suffered a unanimous decision to Haruki Ishikawa on April 1, 2019.

The 30-year-old Nakagawa (24W-6L-2D, 14KO) won against Naoya Okamoto by technical decision last October 12, 2018.

Nakagawa settled for a split draw with Jin Miura last May 31, 2019. The promoter is Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr. of Elorde International Production.
