Meta Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg introduced a paid subscription service for Facebook and Instagram, allowing users to verify their accounts.

Zuckerberg introduced Meta Verified, a service that grants users a blue check, an “extra impersonation protection” against poser accountFs, and a direct access to customer support.

“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” he added.

Meta Verified starts at $11.99 (approximately P660) monthly on the web or $14.99 (approximately P825) monthly on iOS.

The service will be rolled out first in Australia and New Zealand this week.

This comes after Twitter launched its own version of paid service, Twitter Blue, which allows users to get a verified profile.
