Metro Manila COVID-19 positivity rate rises slightly

Metro Manila’s COVID-19 positivity rate rose slightly, OCTA Research Group reported Tuesday, June 7.

In its latest report, OCTA said the positivity rate in Metro Manila went up to 1.6% from last week’s 1.5%, with an average of 9,430 tests daily.

“[National Capital Region] continued to have an uptick in new COVID-19 cases. The public is advised to not be complacent with health protocols,” OCTA said.

The region also saw a 10%-increase in daily average new COVID-19 cases from 78 to 86.

Meanwhile, the one-week average daily attack rate also increased from 0.55 to 0.61, while the reproduction number climbed from 1.08 to 1.24.

Hospital care utilization rate decreased from 23% to 21%.
