Metro Manila, other areas to remain under Alert Level 1 until May 31

Metro Manila and other areas will remain under Alert Level 1 from May 16 to 31, Malacañang announced on Sunday, May 15.

Acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar said the Inter-Agency Task Force has approved the recommendations for the alert levels last Saturday, May 14.

Aside from Metro Manila, other areas under Alert Level 1 are: Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province

Baguio City, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Dagupan City, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, City of Santiago, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Angeles City, Olongapo City, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Lucena City; 

Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Puerto Princesa City, Albay, Catanduanes, Naga City, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Siquijor, Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Ormoc City, Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City, Davao City, Surigao del Sur, and Butuan City.

Meanwhile, the following component cities and municipalities will also be placed under Alert Level 1 without prejudice to those component cities and municipalities:Kiangan, Ifugao; Balud, Masbate; Irosin, Sorsogon; Calape, Bohol; Garcia Hernandez, Bohol; San Isidro, Bohol; San Miguel, Bohol; Alcoy, Cebu; Borbon, Cebu; Oslob, Cebu; Pilar, Cebu; Santander, Cebu; Tudela, Cebu; Bacong, Negros Oriental; Dauin, Negros Oriental; Valencia (Luzarriaga); Negros Oriental; Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental; Tarangnan, Samar; Zumarraga, Samar; Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur; Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay; Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat; Upi, Maguindanao

The following provinces and areas will be placed under Alert Level 2, without prejudice to their respective component cities and municipalities under a different alert level classification: Benguet, Ifugao; Quezon Province,Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate; Sorsogon, Antique, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Cebu Province, Negros Oriental, Leyte, Northern Samar, Western Samar, City of Isabela, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Lanao del Norte, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental, General Santos City, North Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat; South Cotabato, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands; Surigao del Norte, Basilan, Cotabato City; Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu; and Tawi-Tawi. gb
