Mheco Manlangit, Noli Me Tangere The Opera’s Maria Clara, is set to sing tough arias at the Cultural Center of the Philippines for a one-night show. After receiving a Steinhardt Music Scholarship at the New York University last year, Mheco is now exposed to a lot of singing opportunities like performing at the welcoming ceremony of the new dean of NYU’s faculty of Arts and Sciences, becoming part of the World Premier of Chandrika Tandon’s Shivoham-The Quest at Kennedy Center and this Spring, Manlangit is looking forward to playing the role of ‘Lady Billows’ of NYU’s production of ‘Albert Herring’ by Benjamin Britten in the direction of Michael Scarola.

“I am very excited about all the things that I’ve been learning in grad school. I’m really thrilled and grateful for the opportunities God has provided me.” Manlangit said.

The proceeds of L’amour: An Evening of Love Songs will go directly towards the gospel medical mission headed by Dr. Othello Caturan. The Pastor-Surgeon goes from country to country to provide surgical and medical care in underserved communities, impacting the lives of children and their families by sharing the goodness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He said that he wanted to be God’s instrument to help and heal the sick both physically and spiritually.

His team is directed and coordinated by a group of volunteers that includes physicians, nurses, and non-healthcare personnel since its creation two decades ago. They conduct surgeries, circumcisions, cyst removal, and postoperative care. The people who receive assistance usually suffer from upper respiratory infection, diarrhea, parasitic diseases, and dermatological problems.

Mheco Manlangit has been performing and volunteering for Dr. Caturan’s foundation for the past years, working and striving with the same goal-to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
