MIAA prepares for ‘Oplan Undas’

MANILA – The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is now preparing for “Oplan Undas” in preparation for the expected influx of passengers during and after the celebration of All Saints/Souls’ Day on November 1 and 2.

Media Affairs Division head Jess Martinez on Tuesday said MIAA will ensure proper deployment of people, especially those who will attend to emergencies or any untoward incident.

“We make sure that the medical people are there. There will be additional security,” he said.

Under “Oplan Undas”, Martinez said the management will also ensure that airport facilities like comfort rooms have enough water supply and working well.

Passengers may also approach help desks that will be put up during the season.

In 2017, the four terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) had a total of 687,892 passengers. The number, recorded from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2, 2017, includes all arrivals and departures of international and domestic passengers.

Martinez said the trend in the number of passengers during the commemoration of All Saints/Souls’ Day has always been increasing. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
