Mindanao pro boxing to hold 5 title fights

DAVAO CITY – Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinProba) will topbill five title fights in the ‘Redemption 2 Bakbakan’ slated on March 5 at the Dujali Gymnasium in Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte.

The Bakbakan, presented by Engr. Jilson Basang of MB Sports Promotion in coordination with local government unit of Braulio E. Dujali under Mayor Leah Marie Moral-Romano, will have two fights featuring Singaporeans against local boxers.

James Francis Buray (7-1-0) of Iligan will face undefeated Singaporean Muhammad Ashiq (6-0) for MinProba super featherweight crown while Kim ‘Bonecrusher’ Actub (7-9-1) also of Iligan will trade puanches with Nushahida Roselie (11-2) also of Singapore for women’s super bantamweight title.

Meanwhile, former RP team member Charly Suarez (1-0) of San Isidro, Davao del Norte will face undefeated Justin Cabarles (4-0) of Digos City for the vacant MinProba lightweight title.

On the other hand, Marvilo “The King” Aballe (7-1-2) of Braulio E. Dujali will slug it out with Rocky Sardido (8-22-5) of Davao del Sur for the vacant MinProba featherweight title.

Jhunrick Carcedo (3-1-0) of General Santos City will face Romulo “Demon” Ramayan Jr. (7-16-4) of Valencia City for the MinProba welterweight belt.

Redemption 2 Bakbakan will also have non-title bouts between former RP king Glenn Porras (31-8-0) of Kidapawan City vs. Ramel Antaran (3-12-1) of Gensan; Jestine Tesoro (4-1-0) vs. Stephen Bontoyan (4-0); Judy Flores (6-0) vs. Joey Antonio (3-7-4); Arjay Recopelacion (3-1-1) vs. Jegear Bereno (3-2-1); Jayar Rubin (0-0-1) vs. JR Cubillan (1-1-0).
