Missing Cessna aircraft found in Apayao

The missing Cessna 152 training aircraft that was reported missing on Tuesday, Aug. 1, has been found in Luna, Apayao on Wednesday, Aug. 2, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed.

CAAP said the missing 2-seater aircraft was found at Barangay Salvacion in Luna, Apayao.

Search and retrieval operations are now underway to retrieve the bodies of the two persons on board the aircraft.

Operations of Echo Air, the operator of the aircraft, have been suspended, according to CAAP.

Investigators from the CAAP Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board have been dispatched to the location and will join the investigation of the crash site once retrieval of the bodies have been completed.
