Following the suspension of the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) last August 2022, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) monitored over 250,000 traffic violations.
On Wednesday, the MMDA said it has monitored a total of 256,977 traffic violations since the suspension of NCAP.
MMDA Acting Chairperson Atty. Don Artes urged motorists to enforce discipline and obey traffic laws even without NCAP.
“Kahit suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng NCAP, patuloy ang ginagawang monitoring ng mga lumalabag sa batas trapiko gamit ang [CCTV],” MMDA said.
Some of the violations observed by MMDA were disregarding traffic signs, violating number coding, obstruction, illegal parking, reckless driving, and no helmet.
Of the number, a huge chunk of violations were logged in May and March, with 32,739 and 31,329 violations, respectively.
