MMDA suspends number coding due to ‘Henry’

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suspended on Friday afternoon, Sept. 2, the expanded number coding scheme due to bad weather caused by Typhoon Henry.

MMDA Acting Chairperson Carlo Dimayuga ordered the number coding suspension.

In the 5;00 p.m. weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon Henry continues to weaken while moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea east northeast of Batanes and expected to weaken in the next 12 hours.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 remains hoisted over Batanes and TCWS No. 1  over Babuyan Islands and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana).

Meanwhile, schools in the National Capital Region announced class suspension on Friday, Sept. 2 after a yellow rainfall warning was issued.
