MMDA tells public: Be careful, responsible when going to public places

By Pearl Gumapos

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday (Feb. 1) urged the public to be careful when going to malls and other public places.

Sana naman iyong attitude of being responsible ay dalhin natin ito,” MMDA Chairperson Benhur Abalos said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

I would like to congratulate everyone for this attitude of self regulation at sana dalhin po natin ito,” he said.

Meanwhile, Abalos said local government units have the authority to impose policies or ordinances on the mobility of their residents.

“Ang intrazonal and interzonal movement shall be allowed, however, reasonable restrictions may be imposed by the LGUs which should not be stricter as those prescribed under higher alert levels. Ibig sabihin nito ay ang paggalaw natin ay papayagan ngunit ito ay puwedeng magkaroon ng restriction pa rin,” he said. -ag
