At least 1,448 personnel Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be deployed during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day this year to alleviate the anticipated congestion in key areas.

In a press briefing Friday, Oct. 20, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said it will be deploying personnel from traffic discipline and parkways clearing groups, as well as Task Force Special Operations, once “Oplan Undas” is put in motion, running from Oct. 27 to Nov. 6.

“Mayroon kaming in-issue na ‘no day-off, no absent’ policy sa ating mga traffic personnel,” Artes said.

Public assistance centers and emergency personnel will also be put in place to respond better to emergency cases and public inquiries in key areas.

“Hindi lamang traffic personnel ang ating ide-deploy, pati mga emergency personnel para ma-ensure ang kaligtasan din ng ating mga kababayan. Mayroon din tayong public assistance centers na pamumunuan ng ating Road Emergency Group para in case of emergency, meron tayong nakaantabay na team” he added.

Members of the Metro Parkway Clearing Group are tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the vicinity of cemeteries and memorial parks, and clearing obstructions along sidewalks and major roads in these areas.
