Molecular lab in Clark to open next month

The molecular laboratory in Clark, Pampanga that can process up to 2,000 PCR tests per day is set to open next month.

COVID-19 Response Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon said the laboratory is very important since Pampanga is one of the international gateways in the country.

“Para mabilis nating mate-test ang ating mga kababayan na uuwi at mabilis ding mag-generate ng result (This is for faster testing of our returning countrymen, and for faster generation of results),” Dizon added.

It will also be open for swab samples taken from other areas in the country.

Dizon shared they target 24-to-48-hour results for PCR tests. The project is a collaboration between Clark, BCDA, Clark Airport, and Red Cross. It is located near the Clark International Airport and its facilities and rooms are now ready. The RITM and DOH will possibly conduct an inspection on the laboratory. – Report from Sandra Samala
