Monsoon rains to affect PH for the rest of the week: PAGASA

MANILA — The country will experience continuous rains for the week brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, Pagasa said moderate to heavy rains will prevail over Metro Manila, the regions of Ilocos and Cordillera, provinces of Batanes, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan and Zambales.

Residents in these areas are advised to take precautionary measures for possible flooding or landslides.

The Mimaropa region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon will also experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

The northern, western and southern section of Luzon and the eastern section of northern and Central Luzon are bound to have strong gale from the southwest producing rough to very rough coastal waters.

Due to the inclement weather, classes in some areas have been suspended on Wednesday.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 24-29 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 26-33 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 15-21 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 26-34 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-33 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
