MANILA, July 26 — More schools and local governments have been suspended classes Wednesday afternoon as “Gorio” intensified into a tropical storm.
The city governments of Manila and Quezon City announced on Twitter that afternoon classes from preschool to high school in both public and private schools have been suspended.
Classes in all levels in the provinces of Cavite and Bataan were also suspended. In Rodriguez, Rizal, classes from pre-school to senior high school, both public and private, were also suspended.
In its latest weather bulletin, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “Gorio” slightly slowed down as it moves north-northwestward.

Pre-school to senior high school classes in both public and private schools in the cities of Valenzuela and Navotas were also suspended.
