More diplomats pay courtesy call on Marcos Jr.

Ambassadors of different countries paid a courtesy call on President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in his headquarters on Friday, June 17.

First to meet Marcos Jr. was Polish Polish Chargé d’affaires Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz.

The Polish diplomat shared that he and Marcos Jr. spoke about food security, defense sectors, and the possible contribution of Poland for the incoming administration to the Philippine economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

After Szczepankiewicz, Bangladesh Ambassador Borhan Uddin also made a courtesy call to Marcos Jr. and talked about the Bangladesh partnership with the country in terms of agriculture and other sectors like pharmaceuticals.

New Zealand Ambassador Peter Kell also came down to Marcos’ headquarters for his courtesy call, wherein they talked about maintaining peace, prosperity and stability between New Zealand and the Philippines, as well as tourism and education developments.

 

Nigerian ambassador to the Philippines Folakemi Akinleye shared to the media that they also discussed the PH-Nigeria collaboration on the production of natural gas or clean energy, along with other topics that will contribute to the country’s development.

The last one to face Marcos Jr. was Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steven Robinson, who expressed appreciation on the 76-year relationship of their country and the Philippines.

According to Robinson, his conversation with Marcos Jr. covered the defense sector, particularly the training they carried out with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. – Report from Joshua Garcia/ML–ag
