MRT-3 passengers increase amid GCQ

A report from the MRT-3 management showed the number of passengers has increased since it resumed operations on Monday amid the onset of general community quarantine.

Based on the daily operations report of MRT, there were 25,221 passengers and 20 trains on June 1 and 26,020 passengers on June 2 with 19 trains. On June 3, the passenger count reached 29,524 with 19 trains on the rail. The tally has ballooned to 30,894 passengers on June 4 with the same number of trains.

Even with the increasing number of passengers, security and health protocols strictly observed in the trains such as social distancing, placement of line marks and plastic barriers, and wearing of face masks and face shields also for guards.

Meanwhile, the MRT has implemented a five-minute fixed schedule dispatching for the bus augmentation program.
