MRT-3 suffers electrical glitch; 800 passengers affected

Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) Southbound train unloaded its whole train at Ortigas Station on Tuesday due to its electrical glitch.

The failure occurred at 8:21 in the morning causing delay to approximately 800 passengers.

According to an MRT-3 report, the electrical failure is caused by ‘worn-out electrical sub-components’.

Passengers were transferred to the next train eight minutes later.

As part of its remedy. preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components, ensuring the availability of spare parts, were conducted. (Camille de Guzman – PTV)
