MRT-3 suspends operations from July 7 to July 11

The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) will suspend its operations starting Tuesday, July 7 until Saturday, July 11 as recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

Based on the recent data of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), 186 MRT-3 employees have tested positive in the swab test. 169 are depot personnel who have been initially confirmed while 17 are station personnel. 11 of the station personnel are designated in ticket booths, 3 are train drivers, 2 are control center personnel and 1 nurse.

The infected staff are now under quarantine while all employees are to undergo swab testing thus the suspension of the MRT-3.

90 buses will be deployed to fill up the lack of transportation due to the suspension of the MRT-3. The MRT-3 administration will release the location of the stations where the station personnel have tested positive are designated. – Report from Patrick De Jesus
