MRT-3 to launch ‘MRT Trace’

The Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) is set to conduct a soft launch of its web-based contact tracing application “MRT Trace” on January 18.

According to the MRT-3 administration, the app is an upgrade of its manual contact tracing that is being implemented per line to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

MRT-3 Director for Operations Michael Capati stated that the MRT-3 will help in reducing contact between passengers and their personnel. It is also in accordance with the directive of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade to digitalize the process of contact tracing to avoid long lines in the MRT-3 stations. – PTV News
