MRT-3 weekend shutdown to push through

The weekend shutdown of MRT-3 for its massive rehabilitation and maintenance of its entire line is set to be implemented this week.

In its advisory, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced the scheduled shutdown will take place on November 14 to 15 and on November 28 to 30.

The DOTr MRT-3 said in its Facebook page that this will give way to the bushing replacement in its depot which will also cover the repair of the bus tie that provides power supply.

A “turnout activity” in the portion of Taft Avenue Station will also be conducted. “Bahagi ng turnout activity na ito ay ang pagsasaayos ng 2A at 2B turnout sections sa Taft Avenue (Part of the turnout activity is the repair of 2A and 2B turnout sections in Taft Avenue),” the announcement read.

It can be recalled that the scheduled weekend shutdown last October 31 to November 2 was suspended due to the threat of super Typhoon Rolly. -Report from Karen Villanda
