MSMEs’ role in economic dev’t cited in Davao ‘Go Negosyo’ roadshow

MANILA — Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go highlighted the important role of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as key drivers of inclusive economic growth in the country, during the Davao leg of the Go Negosyo’s Mentor Me on Wheels (MMOW) on Saturday.

The presidential assistant joined Go Negosyo Founder and Presidential Adviser on Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion at SM Lanang Premiere for the MMOW, which seeks to raise awareness on the contribution of MSMEs towards national development.

The Duterte administration aims to give opportunities to Filipinos who want to start or expand their businesses, and show the world that Filipino products are world class),” Go said.

MMOW aims to bring mentorship closer to starting Filipino businessmen, especially to those underserved entrepreneurs from distant areas.

The program also provides an avenue for capacity building in realizing President Duterte’s goal of building an inclusive economy.

Asahan po nating lahat na mas marami pang ‘Mentor Me on Wheels’ ang inoorganisa ng DTI upang maabot nito ang mas maraming Filipino entrepreneurs sa buong bansa (Let’s hope for more ‘Mentor Me on Wheels’ organized by DTI so our Filipino entrepreneurs across the country will be reached),” he said.

Patunay po ito na go na go na ang suporta ni Tatay Digong sa lahat ng Filipino MSMEs na malaki ang ambag sa paglago ng ating ekonomiya (This proves Tatay Digong’s huge support for all Filipino MSMEs who are large contributors to our economy),” he added.

Aside from Go, other guest speakers during the event were Madame Honeylet Avanceña, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar and Presidential Adviser (PA) on Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion. (PR/PNA)
