Nagtahan Flyover in Manila off-limits to trucks

MMDA PR

Starting February 20, trucks and trailers shall be prohibited from traversing Nagtahan Flyover in Manila City following recommendations of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to reduce its load limit.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the Nagtahan flyover shall remain open for light vehicles only.

Truckers are advised to take the following alternative routes:

Southbound heavy vehicles may take Earnshaw Street, Legarda Street, Ayala Street, P. Burgos Street to Roxas Boulevard.

Northbound heavy vehicles may take Quirino Avenue to Roxas Boulevard; Quirino Avenue Extension to United Nations Avenue to Roxas Boulevard.

According to the DPWH, several cracks were found on the wingwall, concrete pedestal of the steel railings and circular joint jackets. Thus, trucks and trailer trucks will have to use alternative routes to prevent intense damage and untoward incidents.

Nagtahan flyover is included in the DPWH’s list of Metro Manila bridges due for repair.
