Narco list a ‘collation’ of intel reports, ‘not mine’ – Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte clarified that his office does not have any involvement in the recent killing of Los Baños Mayor Caesar Perez whose name was included in the list of alleged narco-politicians.

“Iyang listahan na ‘yan, hindi akin ‘yan. It’s a collation, lahat-lahat na ‘yan sa intelligence report sa mga drug enforcement at sa intelligence ng military, police. It’s a combination (That list isn’t mine. It’s a collation of all of the intelligence reports of drug enforcement and military and police intelligence. It’s a combination),” he explained.

“I’m sorry if your father was there. But really, most of those, nasa droga talaga (they are really into drugs). Your father might be an exception… If you believe firmly that he was not guilty or liable of anything, well, it’s good. But the problem [is] his name umabot doon sa listahan (got into the list),” he added.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is also looking into the possibility of politics as the motive of the crime. Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A has reason to believe that a suspected member of gun-for-hire might have killed the mayor.

“We can say with the distance of 26 meters, medyo magaling ‘yung pumutok (the shooter is quite skilled),” PRO-4A Regional Director PBGen. Felipe Natividad explained.

“Yung mga gun-for-hire talaga, they do that for a living. So that is, ‘yun na nga, they are trained on doing that (Those into the gun-for-hire business do that for a living. So that is, that is it, they are trained on doing that),” he added. – Report from Bea Bernardo
