Navotas City to implement ’three-strike policy’

Navotas City announced that it will implement a “three-strike policy” in all its barangays as part of the local government’s stride to prevent the increase in the number of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

Under the policy, a barangay official may be charged with “neglect of duty” after the third time that the Task Force Disiplina or the Philippine National Police (PNP) catches safety protocols violators more than the barangay authorities.

According to Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco, they have still been receiving many complaints of non-compliance with the safety protocols in spite of the implemented steps to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. -PTV News
