Navy helps repack, distribute relief goods

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila- The Philippine Navy (PN), through the Civil Military Operations Group – Philippine Navy (CMOG-PN) assisted in hauling, repacking and distribution of the relief goods donated by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through the Philippine Army at Bonifacio Naval Station Grandstand, Taguig City.

The 250 million worth of assorted goods were intended to be distributed to our less fortunate countrymen in the light of the ongoing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) as preventive measure against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy, Rear Admiral Giovanni Carlo J Bacordo visited the troops on Tuesday night, April 7 during the repacking of relief goods together with the CMOG-PN commander, Colonel Ricardo Petrola.

CMOG-PN spearheaded the relief goods distribution at Brgy Zone 1, Fort Bonifacio Taguig City on April 8. A total of 1,321 families benefited from said relief packs each containing 21 canned sardines, 14 canned corned beef, 20 coffee sachets, 20 milk sachets and 5 kg of rice per family.

As part of the one AFP initiative of the organization and in coordination with the Philippine Army, an ample amount of relief goods were allocated to PN thru CMOG-PN to form part of the PN’s humanitarian assistance efforst in this time of crisis. Personnel from the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC), Naval Reserved Command (NRC) and the Naval Installation Command (NIC) also assisted during the said activity.

The men and women of the Philippine Navy are always ready to assist and extend their helping hands in providing relief goods to our country men in trying times like this.
