National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Counter-Terrorism Division Chief Raoul Manguerra was shot in his office Monday night.
Authorities stated that Manguerra was found with a gunshot wound in his abdomen. The Manila Police District (MPD) disclosed that the official has been brought to the Manila Doctors Hospital by his driver and an NBI personnel but was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:02 AM.
NBI Spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin stated that NBI Director Eric Distor already ordered an investigation and lockdown of the area.
“The NBI is in a deep state of mourning. We condole with the family, relatives and friends of Chief Manguerra,” Lavin added. – PTV News Online
