NBI files raps vs former PhilHealth chief, execs over anomalies

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has charged former Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Chief Ricardo Morales and fellow executives with violation of the Anti-graft and Corruption Practices Act.

The case filed by the NBI with the Office of the Ombudsman included Morales PhilHealth Executive Vice Presidents Arnel de Jesus and Renato Limsiaco,.

The charge made was based on the alleged issuance of ₱33.8 million under the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM) fund to a dialysis center. The NBI pointed out that the action was irregular since the IRM fund can only be used if there is an outbreak or pandemic in the country that excludes dialysis centers and the like. – PTV News
