NBI probes Calbayog City encounter

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Samar District Office is conducting the probe on the encounter in Calbayog City where its Mayor Ronaldo Aquino was killed.

According to NBI Spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin, the NBI Samar District Office will coordinate with the NBI Regional Office in Tacloban on this. The NBI Central Office sent a forensic team to aid in the investigation.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) also stated that it will wait for the result of the investigation especially now that it has created a Special Investigating Task Group (SITG) that will focus on the matter. It will also look into the rumors of Aquino being included in the drugs watch list.
