NBI probes OWWA Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson on spread of fake news

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has requested an explanation from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson on her alleged propagation of fake news.

A subpoena has been served to the OWWA deputy administrator for her to appear before the bureau on May 18.

According to NBI Cyber Crime Division Chief Atty. Vic Lorenzo, they have received a complaint against Mocha Uson for posting a report stating that the PPEs were bought and given by the Department of Health (DOH), only to find out that the PPEs were donated by a private company.

The OWWA deputy administrator apologized after numerous netizens reacted to the post.

The NBI has clarified that the investigation is still ongoing and there are still no charges filed against Uson. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
