NBI probes slay of seaman’s wife, daughter in Cavite

MANILA — Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe and file the necessary charges against the people involved in the killing of a woman and her young daughter in their home in Cavite.

Aguirre issued Department Order (DO) No. 797 dated December 14 ordering NBI Director Dante Gierran “to conduct investigation and case build-up over the death of Ruby Gamos and her seven-year-old daughter Shaniah Nicole Gamos, who were found dead inside their home in General Trias, Cavite, and if evidence so warrants, to file appropriate charges thereon.”

“Further, Director Gierran shall submit a report to the Office of the Secretary of Justice on its current activities related to the implementation of this Order,” the department order signed by Aguirre read.

Ruby, 34, and her daughter were found dead Tuesday by her sister-in-law Karen Bongalos in their home in Kensington subdivision in Barangay Navarro.

Police investigators said the victims are believed to be already dead for three to four days when they were discovered.

Investigators believe that the victims may have known the suspect since no defensive wounds were found on the victims.

Ruby sustained blows on the head, while, her daughter got choked. The victims are believed to have been robbed. (PNA)
