NBI satellite clearance center opens in General Trias

CITY OF GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite – Residents from Cavite’s 6th District and nearby towns can now heave a sigh of relief from the fare expenses and burden of travelling after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) opened its satellite clearance office at the 3rd floor of Robinsons Place here on Tuesday.

The NBI satellite office, which was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the NBI, city government and private partner Robinsons, is now among the government agencies housed by Robinsons Place’s Lingkod Pinoy Center (LPC) to serve constituents their clearance requirement for local and overseas jobs and employment pre-requisites.

Aside from the NBI, the LPC houses Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Philippine Postal Corp (PhilPost), Land Transportation Office (LTO), and Pag-Ibig Fund.

NBI Director, lawyer Dante A. Gierran, said during Tuesday’s launching and blessing rites, that the 2nd satellite clearance office to be established inside the Robinsons Malls in Cavite (the first was established in Dasmariǹas City) has demonstrated another public-private partnership and a testament of the collaborative efforts among people to reach a common goal, “that is to provide good service to the public.”

The NBI provides the technology and training of its personnel for the processing of the clearance documents.

The LPC, which is under Robinsons Place’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), is envisioned to be a one-stop-shop for all government transactions.

“We at Robinsons are the first to bring government services in one place,” said Robinsons Land Corporation Operations Director for Luzon Irving L. Wu.

As a private partner, Robinsons Place provides the space, merchandising, needed equipment and marketing, “including other special arrangements, depending on the need of the agency for them to go fully operational,” Wu added.

The LGU partner provides the needed personnel to “be on their toes and render service with a smile” from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., said GenTri City Mayor Antonio A. Ferrer.

Ferrer welcomed this newest means to make processing of their clearance easier for his constituents describing it as “dagdag convenience, dagdag tulong (more convenience, more help).”

“Katabi lang ito ng Cavite Economic Zone at isa sa mga requirements sa trabaho ang NBI clearance kaya makakatulong ito upang mapadali ang transaksyon (this is just beside the Cavite Economic Zone where one of the employment requirements is an NBI clearance thus, will help in easing the process),” the mayor said.

Other than the Robinsons Mall locations, the NBI also has satellite clearance offices in the Municipal Hall of Bacoor City and Citymall Imus as well as a district office in Tagaytay City.

Meanwhile, Cavite 6th District Congressman Luis A. Ferrer hopes to bring in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for a similar satellite office, in line with the LGU’s thrusts to make process easier and convenient for its constituents. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
