NCRPO prepares security for metro cemeteries

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is preparing the security for Metro Manila cemeteries despite their closure on “Undas.”

According to NCRPO Regional Director Police Major General Debold Sinas, police officers will be deployed as early as October 22 in anticipation of people crowding the areas on the last week of October.

The NCRPO will also assign K9 units to ensure that visitors do not carry bombs, illegal drugs, or illegal objects in the cemeteries.

The police force is only waiting for the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the Metro Manila Council (MMC) to issue the guidelines and resolution regarding the matter.

The NCRPO has also reiterated reminders for people intending to go the cemeteries to obey the health protocols such as wearing masks and shileds, and physical distancing.
