A total of 337 families or 960 individuals were evacuated in Cagayan due to Typhoon “Neneng,” the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Sunday, Oct. 16.
In its latest situation report, NDRRMC said 1,472 families or 5,357 individuals from 10 cities and municipalities in Cagayan have been affected by the typhoon.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), in its latest bulletin, said “Neneng” intensified into a typhoon.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said the Manila North Road, Kilometer 578+800 in Sitio Banquero, Barangay Pancian in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte is temporarily closed due to heavy rainfall and landslides.
Motorists are advised to take Ilocos Sur-Abra-Kalinga-Tuguegarao Road.
