NDRRMC: Death toll due to heavy rains, flooding rises to 17

At least 10 persons died due to heavy rains and floods that hit portions of the Visayas and Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Friday, Jan. 13.

Five casualties were recorded in Bicol Region, four in Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao, three in Eastern Visayas, and one death in Davao Region.

Seven people also sustained injuries.

A total of 121,950 families were affected from the heavy rains and floods. – gb
