NDRRMC: Death toll from to heavy rains, floods climbs to 29

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday, Jan. 17, that the total number of fatalities from heavy rains and floods have reached 29.

According to NDRRMC’s latest situational report, the eight reported casualties came from Zamboanga Peninsula, seven each from Northern Mindanao and Eastern Visayas, five from Bicol region and one each from the Davao Region and Soccscksargen.

Twelve were reported injured while four are still missing.

The heavy rains and flooding in nearly 2,000 barangays have affected almost 1.4 million or 347,382 families. – gb
