NDRRMC: Relief goods sufficient for quake victims

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) assures that there is adequate supply of relief goods for afflicted individuals in Mindanao, following a series of strong quakes in Southern Philippines. The alleviation resources were partly derived from private entities. The Department of Health, for its part, has already sent approximately PHP5 million medical supplies to devastated regions, apart from the psychosocial services provided there in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Consequently, there is not a need yet for foreign assistance.

Meanwhile, the Department of Science and Technology negated any possibility of tsunami in Cotabato because the epicenter of the quakes were inland.
