NE monsoon, LPA affecting the country: PAGASA

MANILA—The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said rains will prevail in most parts of the country Friday as the northeast monsoon is affecting northern Luzon and the easterlies in the eastern section of Luzon and the Visayas.

The state weather bureau said the regions of Caraga and Davao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) with possible flashfloods or landslides due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Norte, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will experience isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to east with slight to moderate coastal waters. (Lily O. Ramos/PNA)
