The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that it is set to conduct a face-to-face Independence Day job fair on June 12 with nearly 123,000 vacancies offered to job hunters.

Citing Bureau of Local Employment figures, DOLE Region 3 Assistant Director Alejandro Inza Cruz said in the Laging Handa briefing that there are 95,476 local job openings and 27,509 overseas jobs available.

“Sa araw po ng ating pagdiriwang ng ating kasarinlan sa June 12, naghanay po ang Department of Labor ng trabaho, negosyo, kabuhayan na business fairs sa ating buong Pilipinas,” Cruz said, noting that it is part of the agency’s yearly Independence Day celebrations.

The official said the list of job site venues across the country can be viewed at ble.dole.gov.ph.

Cruz said the top local job vacancies include production operator, customer service representative, jail officer, loan officer, and sewing mechanic.

The in-demand overseas vacancies are for nurses, factory worker, household worker, carpenter, electrician, mason, and cleaner.

DOLE will also have a trade and livelihood fair, skills demo, and livelihood grants from DOLE, as well as the distribution of salaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries in Central Luzon.

“Halos karamihan po ng ating job sites ay face-to-face after two years of the pandemic. Binabalik po namin iyong face-to-face, kasi po mas madali at mas makikinabang po ang ating mga aplikante para po agad nilang matugunan iyong pangangailangan po ng ating employers,” he said.

“Para po ito rin makatulong doon sa ating mga naghahanap ng trabaho, sa ating mga kababayan towards economic recovery po ng ating bansa,” he added. – ag
