Nearly 700 nabbed in Manila for ordinance violations in last 24 hours

MANILA — More than six hundred persons have been rounded by Manila police for violations of city ordinances over the past 24 hours, the Manila Police District reported Friday.

Some 688 persons were caught violating laws and Manila city ordinances from 12:00 a.m. of July 5, 2018 to 12:00 a.m. of July 6, 2018, MPD District Director Police Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan reported to National Capital Region Police Office Regional Director Police Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar.

Those apprehended were drinking in public, smoking and going half-naked in public places.

The following are the number of apprehended individuals for each violation in several Manila police stations:

     Drinking in public

  • 38 (Sta. Cruz Police Station)
  • 31 (Raxabago PS)
  • 3 (Moriones Tondo PS)

     Smoking ban violation

  • 50 (Sta. Cruz Police Station)
  • 6 (Raxabago PS)
  • 28 (Moriones Tondo PS)

 Going half-naked in public

  • 31 (Sta. Cruz Police Station)
  • 70 (Raxabago PS)
  • 22 (Moriones Tondo PS)

     Violation of other city ordinances

  • 26 (Sta. Cruz Police Station)
  • 82 (Raxabago PS)
  • 7 (Moriones Tondo PS)
