New IATF reso OKs non-essential travel, more salon services

Malacañang announced on Tuesday updates on the newly approved IATF Resolution No. 52 which includes the lifting of suspension of non-essential travel of Filipinos and expanded salon services under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) areas.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said non-essential travels have been allowed for Filipinos subject to some conditions such as submission of confirmed round-trip tickets for those travelling on tourist visas, and adequate travel health insurance to cover rebooking and accommodation expenses.

Also included in the conditions are the execution of a declaration on acknowledgement of risks involved in travelling, the destination country must allow entry, and the observance of National Task Force (NTF) guidelines for returning Overseas Filipinos (OFs) upon return.

For salon services, all types of hair treatment services have been allowed in areas under GCQ.

Those under MGCQ, facial care and basic personal care services such as waxing, threading, having, and foot and hand spa have been permitted aside from hair services.

Based on the new resolution, MRT-3 operations will temporarily be suspended due to the number of COVID-19 cases among its personnel and to give way for disinfection.

Secretary Roque added that the country’s laboratory testing capacity reached 74,304.

Meanwhile, the Inter Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) approved the strengthened approach on the new strain of swine flu virus.
