New York still world’s wealthiest city – global survey

New York City dominated the 2023 world ranking for wealthiest cities with 340,000 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), according to Henley & Partners’ World’s Wealthiest Cities Report.

The HWNIs classified people with $1 million or more investable wealth. 

In the report, New York is recorded to have 340,000 HNWIs with $1 million or more investable wealth, 724 centi-millionaires or those with $100 million and more, and 58 billionaires. 

Meanwhile, Tokyo, home of the biggest automobile companies, ranked second with 290,300 HNWIs, 250 centi-millionaires, and 14 billionaires. 

The tech-centered Bay Area (San Francisco Bay) in the US was listed third with 285,000 HWNIs, 629 centi-millionaires, and 63 billionaires. 

London is in fourth spot with 258,000 HWNIs, 629 centi-millionaires, and 36 billionaires, while Singapore remained steady in fifth place with 240,100 HWNIs, 329 centi-millionaires, and 27 billionaires. 

The following cities completed the top 10:
#6: Los Angeles (205,400 HNWIs)
#7: Hong Kong (129,500 HNWIs)
#8: Beijing (128,200 HNWIs)
#9: Shanghai (127,200 HNWIs)
#10: Sydney (126,900 HNWIs)
