No, resorts will not be closed due to ‘heat wave’

By Gabriela Baron

The Department of Health (DOH) belied on Monday, April 3, that resorts in Western Visayas will be closed due to “heat wave.”

Circulating posts on social media using the name of Center for Health Development Western Visayas claimed that resorts in the region will be closed due to the heat wave.

“The DOH would like to clarify that there is no such recommendation made by the Department to the Office of the President,” DOH said.

However, the Health department reminded the public to stay hydrated, wear comfortable clothes, and stay away from direct heat and sunlight, especially during the noon time and afternoon hours.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration earlier said that temperature will still continue to climb in the next few days. – cf
