There is a northeast monsoon that will be affecting Luzon this Sunday (Feb. 6), bringing light rains and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported in its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon will see cloudy skies with light rains.

Meanwhile, there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

The rest of the country has been forecasted with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

There will be no significant impact on Luzon. However, possible flash floods or landslides may occur in areas of the country experiencing isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will be experiencing moderate to strong winds heading to the northeast, while the rest of Mindanao will be experiencing light to moderate winds also headed northeast. – bny
