Northeasterly surface windflow brings rain over parts of PH

By Meldred Ivy Padilla

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Bulacan and Calabarzon will experience cloudy skies with rains while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail in the rest of Luzon due to the northeasterly surface windflow, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Bicol region caused by the shear line and in Visayas and Mindanao caused by ITCZ or LPA.

Moreover, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will also prevail over Northern Luzon, the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) was seen around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday (April 5) at 320 kilometers (km) east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

It came along with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao and the shear line affecting Southern Luzon. -ngs
