NWRB raises water allocation to 48 cubic meters per second

The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) has increased its water allocation this May amid growing demand on water.

Water distributors will now be receiving 48 cubic meters per second from the previous 46 cubic meters per second or an additional 160 million liters. Water concessionaires revealed that the consumption of water has ballooned since the start of the summer season and the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine. This also resulted in water interruption for some customers of Maynilad.

NWRB Executive Director Dr. Sevillo David Jr. said they expect a “significant improvement” in water services with the additional water allocation. Water service interruptions for residents of Metro Manila are expected to be over.

The water level in Angat dam remains normal amid the increase in water allocation.
