MANILA — National Basketball Association legend Lamar Odom is in the Philippines to join Mighty Sports in the Dubai International Basketball Tournament starting February 1.

“I’m happy to be here in Manila,” Odom said during a press conference at the Solaire Theater Cafe in ParaƱaque on Friday.

Odom, a two-time NBA champ with the Los Angeles Lakers and a one-time champ as part of the United States national team, is making a return to club basketball play after five years of inactivity.

“It means a lot to me to restart my basketball career,” the 39-year-old veteran said.

The former two-time NBA champ will join Justin Brownlee and Randolph Morris as foreign reinforcement for Mighty Sports, which will be beefed up by a good mix of collegiate and professional stars.

Meanwhile, Sheryl Reyes, Odom’s player agent, said in the presser that Odom will be doing a gift-giving activity and a meet-and-greet session with fans on Sunday.
