Office of the Ombudsman warns barangay captains vs dishonesty

The Office of the Ombudsman has warned barangay captains against pocketing money meant for Filipinos affected by COVID-19.

Ombudsman Samuel Martires has assured that they will not tolerate barangay captains who take money from the taxpayers’ funds even if they are backed by a governor or congressman. Complaints on such misconduct of many barangay captains have reached the Office of the Ombudsman. Ombudsman Martires has emphasized that they will identify the captains at the right time. – PTV News
