OFW repatriation hailed

Calatrava, Negros Occidental Mayor Araceli Somosa yesterday thanked President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” for the successful repatriation of her two constituents from Doha, Qatar.

Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Alan Timbayan informed Pres. Duterte that Overseas Filipino Worker Jeniez Pepito and her child were already repatriated to the Philippines last June 27.

Pepito, who hails from Calatrava, Negros Occidental, left Doha with her child for Cebu City via Philippine Airlines flight which departed from Hamad International Airport at nine o’clock in the morning last June 27 and arrived the following day at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for onward flight to Cebu City.

The Office of the President, through the office of Sec. Go, facilitated and made follow ups with relevant government agencies to expedite their repatriation.

“Maraming salamat. We will never forget what you have done for us and to my constituent. Rest assured we will treasure this,” Somosa said.
